With all the debate over government health care plans and the failing system, it can seem like a scary and dark future. But there is a simple solution to all of this, and it involves a little force, for the betterment of the world.
Every citizen, just as they are required to have a Social Security card, should have health insurance. If a person makes under $50,000 a year, the government will pay for it with money they cut from covering the tab of uninsured people. If a person makes more, they can buy a plan, which is now much more affordable because the company can sell so many more plans.
In exchange for all this new business, insurance companies will be forced to charge a single rate no matter what pre-existing conditions or habits you may have. Insurance companies will have motivation to compete and innovate with other new companies that arrive from the new demand.
Plus, in the long run, people will be much more healthy. Instead of ignoring that sore tooth, they will get it fixed before it gets infected. And instead of just dealing with the back pain, that person can get therapy that will get that back into the work force. People overall will be healthy, putting less strain on the healthcare system.
People deserve healthcare like they deserve food, air and water. Who in their right mind would want anyone to have to suffer without healthcare. So why is it so hard for people to give a required insurance plan a try? Is it because healthy wealthy people don’t want to fork over the little bit (less than your cable bill) every month?
I sure hope not…
