When a rich person wants to get in touch with their more spiritual side, away from the joys and temptations of their money, they travel to a Buddhist temple. They get the whole shebang, their spirit shoved right up their puckered asshole. Lucky for me and my friends, all we need is inflation and a empty fridge to get in touch with our inner side.
It’s not all bad, and in fact it helps us really become better people. Some quit smoking just because they want to eat well again, while others give up their favorite drinks, dining out, and even their favorite computer games. They change their lives for the better, and open themselves up to a life without their silly crutches that keep them down and out for so long.
And all the suffering that comes along with that just forces us to understand what we were really into. You can’t be happy if you are strapped down to anything. What happens when that product is pulled off the market, or that person leaves your ass for the pool boy.
I’m not saying that you can’t love something or someone, but being this broke, when everything is getting more and more expensive makes you realize that being able to adapt to any shit that hits the fan really makes you feel better on the inside, and provides a great reason to be happy.
So enjoy not having something.
